Tuesday December 8
Klein Oak's Smith, Former A&M Consolid & Harker Heights coach Rogers on Sam Houston State list
Sam Houston State has narrowed the search for its vacant head coaching position after releasing Todd Whitten from the position in recent weeks. Among the candidates for the job are current Klein Oak head football coach David Smith (pictured right), former A&M Consolidated & Killeen Harker Heights coach Ross Rogers, current Texas A&M-Commerce coach Guy Morriss and former North Texas head coach Darrell Dickey.

Smith has been the head coach at Klein Oak since 1995 and will be among the select high school coaches involved in the thrid annual Under Armour All-America Football Classic to be held at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on January 2 on ESPN alongside safety Luke Muncie.

Roma reassigns Max Habecker, SA Clark's Alexander retires - Moving Van jumps to 42 total changes
SA Clark head football coach Lloyd Alexander has announced his retirement after leading the Clark Cougars to a 13-1 record this season and a berth to state quarterfinals. Since 2002, Clark has compiled a 66-30 record and has guided the Cougars to the playoff in six of the eight seasons as head fotball coach.

The Roma ISD school board has reassigned HFC/AD Max Habecker after three years on the job. While at Roma, Habecker went 6-24 in three seasons including a 4-6 record in the 2009 season.

With Habecker's departure and Alexander's retirement announcement on Tuesday, the total changes in the moving van jumps to 42 total changes. You can see a complete list of head coaching changes by view the THSF '09-'10 Coach Moving Van Report.

Monday December 7
Under Armour All-America Game Rosters to be unveiled December 9 on ESPNU
On Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPNU will announce the rosters for the 2010 Under Armour All-America High School Football Game, which will be split between Team Blur (white jersey) and Team Nitro (black jersey). Host Lowell Galindo will be joined by ESPN Scouts Inc. recruiting experts Tom Luginbill and Craig Haubert, who will provide in-depth analysis on the players participating in third annual event.

The game will take place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Saturday, Jan. 2, at 11 a.m., and will be televised live on ESPN. Former NFL head coaches Ted Marchibroda and Sam Wyche will serve as head coaches for the respective teams. Marchibroda will lead Team Blur, while Wyche will coach Team Nitro.
Crowley, North Crowley open up bringing the Moving Van to 40 changes
Crowley ISD has announced that both Crowley and North Crowley High will be releasing Mike Papas and Brad McCone and bring in two new head football coaches. In the last three seasons under Papas, the North Crowley Panthers are 8-23 while Brad McCone at Crowley is 11-19 in the same time period. Amarillo ISD chooses Brad Thiessen as new Athletic Director
Amarillo ISD has chosen current Amarillo High head football coach and atletic coordinator Brad Thiessen as its brand new athletic director replacing the recently retired Tex Nolan. Before taking over Amarillo High in 2006, Thiessen was at the same position at Levelland, Roby and Stratford. He was chosen from a pool of fifteen applicants for the job. With Thiessen taking over the job in January, the Amarillo High head football coaching position will come open. TASO files lawsuit against UIL for "unauthorized takeover of sports officiating"
On Thursday, December 4, 2009, The Texas Association of Sports Officials, the governing body responsible for providing and assigning officiating crews for varity and sub-varsity events in the state of Texas, has filed a lawsuit against the UIL (University Interscholastic League) stating that the UIL is engaging in “unauthorized takeover of sports officiating in Texas.”

At the present time the UIL has not responded to the TASO lawsuit. TASO's representing attorney Gary Schumann of Savrick, Schumann, Johnson, McGarr, Kaminski, & Shirley, L.L.P. has issued a press release regarding the details and outlining the allegations made by TASO. Weather changes football game schedule
The Buland-Crane contest has been moved from tonight at 7pm to Saturday at 2pm. The game will still be contested at Tiger Stadium in Wolfforth.

Due to wintry conditions expected in Converse on Friday evening, Sinton and La Grange have moved their playoff game from Friday to Saturday. The game will still be held at Rutledge Stadium in Converse but moved from Friday to Saturday at 7:00pm.

Hofstra drops football program citing losing interest, rising costs
The University of Hofstra is ending its football program citing losing interest among students and surrounding community and rising costs to keep the program running. The football program has been around since 1937. See the school's offcial announcement by clicking here.
Mark Mangino out as Kansas Jayhawks head coach
ESPN's Joe Schad reports Mark Mangino is out as the head coach of the Kansas Jayhawks after an investigation was launched to review the treatment of players three weeks ago. In eight years as the Jayhawks head coach, Mangino was 50-48 and he led the team to the Orange Bowl in 2008 defeating West Viriginia going 12-1 that season.

Kansas becomes the 12th FBS school to announce a coaching change in preparation for the 2010 season. Louisiana-Monroe fired Charlie Weatherbie after seven seasons on the job.
Weather conditions move Sinton vs La Grange to Saturday

Two Texas High School Football alumus among Walter Camp Award Finalist List
Former Abilene Wylie (Houston) QB Case Keenum and Jim Ned (Texas) QB Colt McCoy among five finalists college football's Walter Camp Award. The Walter Camp Award is voted on by the Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors for the college football player of the year.

Also among the finalist for this year's award icludes Florida QB Tim Tebow, Alabama RB Mark Ingram and Nebraska DT Ndamukong Suh.

The winner will be announced on Thursday, Dec 10 at 6pm CT on ESPNHD during the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show. McCoy won the Walter Camp Award last season and seeks to become the first back to back winner of the award since Archie Griffin did it in 1974 and 1975.

Coaching News: UNT retains Todd Dodge & more..
The University of North Texas has retained former Southlake Carroll head football coach Todd Dodge and his entire staff for the 2010 football season. Since arriving at the Denton campus in 2007, Dodge has accumulated and overall record of 5-31 and has finished no higher than 7th in the Sun Belt Conference.

There will be new head coaches in Spring, Barbers Hill, Round Rock McNeil, Skidmore-Tynan and Breckenridge. For a complete listing of coaching changes throughout the state of Texas, visit the Texas HS Football Moving Van Report.
